I'm a piano student from Iceland sharing my progress. when I was 7 I took one year in the Suzuki piano school here in Iceland but I didn't show any interest and never practiced, when i was finally allowed to quit I played accordion also for around a year, I never learned to read music and only learned a few songs by ear. but after that I kind of gave up on music because I just didn't like it and I never wanted to practice. I just lived my life normally having friends, playing video games, partying and all that. almost all my life I wanted to become a pilot and even took the first year of high school on the pilot course. But then one day a watched an anime called Your Lie In April which opened up the world of classical music for me. I started listening very much to the basics like Tchaikovsky and others and finally I started learning to play for myself. I have been teaching myself to play piano since January 2019 and started taking piano lessons and music theory in august 2020.

This piece is very special to me. Like most of you know I am a late beginner so I didn't get a lot of classical music around me as a kid, except for two pieces. My dad is a self taught jazz pianist with perfect pitch so he could play pretty well but couldn't read sheet music. He really loved learning pieces by Oscar Peterson and other jazz pianists and one classical piece, Chopins Etude op 10 no 3. Because of that I have a very strong connection to that piece and for some odd reason, I also have it to that particular piece. my good friend Jakob, how many hours do you practice daily. for you to be this good at piano (thinking about your other posts here on this channel such as your Chopin etudes) you have to practice like AT LEAST 4 hours a day.
I do around 3-4 minimum rn but used to do 6+. But its really only about how you practice not how much :)

Absolutely masterful playing. The maturity of this performance shines through and you have developed immensely as a musician and especially as an artist! The interpretation sings, and is incredibly balanced and stable, the melody breathes freely and yet is wonderfully poised. So how do you handle stage fright?
By knowing the pieces well enough and not relying on muscle memory. This was the first time i wasnt really nervous on stage. My heart was still going crazy but mostly excited:)

Can you release a google doc or something similar of the songs you've played since the beginning of your piano progress? I want to immitate your progress, but I dont know where to start. Also, how did you learn music theory? Did you use music books? If so, could you also say which music books you've used since the beginning till now?
I dont think thats a good idea lol. Copying someone else's path won't work i think because i always just picked the music i loved most and based on my level. If you want to play a chopin waltz you should pick the one that you love most, not the one i loved most :)
